The Beginning Of Sorrows
Before reading forward or viewing the videos below, I want to make it perfectly clear that this post is not meant to generate fear, just to keep you alert. Jesus told us in Luke 12:35-40 to keep our loins girded and our lamps burning; being alert, watchful and ready because Jesus is returning at an hour that we do not anticipate. In that same conversation, Jesus also reprimanded the religious leaders in verses 54-56 for not being able to interpret the signs of the times. So unlike them, we should be reading the Bible for ourselves to find out what those signs are and paying attention to what's going on in the world around us.
No one could ever get used to the wrath of tornadoes, hurricanes, volcanoes or earthquakes, for each new generation has their own awakening when it comes to experiencing nature's fury. There's nothing new about these types of weather events; but it would seem that something about the weather in the past 5 years, coupled with other strange earth-related phenomena, have even the most educated and experienced observers scratching their heads asking, "What in the world is going on?"
No matter which field of investigation you wish to research, all fields are observing an increase in frequency and magnitude of destructive weather. This increase began slow and steady during the early 20th century, then increased moderately in frequency and magnitude between 1960 and 2010 when something unexplainable caused a rapid and massive jump in 2011 that has continued to the present. Naysayers blame TV and the internet, suggesting that nothing has changed except our collective awareness of weather events due to modern media. But researchers and observers in every field of investigation would say the internet only contributes to the increasing level of public awareness, it doesn't change the facts.
EARTHQUAKES
According to the U.S. Geological Survey, any earthquake greater than 6.0 on the Richter Scale was considered a killer earthquake. From 1890 to 1950, there were only 17 earthquakes greater than 6.0 on the Richter Scale. That's an average of barely 3 killer earthquakes per decade over the entire planet. Then suddenly during the 1950's, that number leaped to 9 killer earthquakes. Each decade after that continued to show an alarming increase.
1960-1969 = 13 earthquakes 6.0 or greater.
1970-1979 = 51 earthquakes 6.0 or greater.
1980-1989 = 86 earthquakes 6.0 or greater.
1990-1999 = 1491 earthquakes 6.0 or greater. (6 of those were over 8.0).
2000-2009 = 1591 earthquakes 6.0 or greater. (13 of those were over 8.0).
On March 11th 2011, the 9.0 earthquake and tsunami that hit Japan took the world completely by surprise. The epicenter of the earthquake was 43 miles east off the coast of Tohoku. It struck at 2:46 PM and caused a massive tsunami that hit the coast about an hour later. While the earthquake was certainly the worst recorded earthquake to ever hit Japan, the tsunami that followed did the most damage. Waves over 100 feet rolled over 6 miles inland leveling everything. Click here for videos.
While killer earthquakes were now reaching 9.0 on the Richter Scale in places known for being close to fault-lines, smaller earthquakes below 6.0 were beginning to be felt in places normally not known for seismic activity. On August 23rd 2011, a 5.8 earthquake hit Richmond, Virginia and sent tremors to New York and Washington D.C. It was called an usually strong earthquake since tremors in the east coast are rare and even when they do occur, they're usually insignificant and hardly worth reporting. This quake however was registered at 5.8. Many damages were noticed among some of the memorials and structures, most notably the Washington Monument. Click here for videos.
You can't get any more diverse than East Texas for an earthquake. It just doesn't happen here. But on May 10th 2012, a 3.7 earthquake was felt 24 miles northeast of Nacogdoches anyway. This was when I stopped posting earthquake news to the blog because there were just too many of them to cover. By the year 2013, so many earthquakes over 6.0 were happening that the USGS had to upscale the definition of "killer earthquake" to 8.0 and re-defining 7.0 as the new normal!!!!
TORNADOES
Much like earthquakes, tornadoes aren't new. They've been recorded by survivors since the beginning of time. Each new Spring brings the threat of severe weather across the middle of the United States and especially the strip known as Tornado Alley. But something about this yearly phenomenon has become extreme in recent years. The larger, more severe tornadoes are becoming the norm while the number of tornadoes altogether has begun to skyrocket!

This was when I stopped posting tornado videos because like the earthquakes, there were too many to keep up. There were over 1700 tornadoes in the United States alone during 2011. Why? What's so special about that year? In 2012, the yearly number of tornadoes decreased below 1000, while the size and impact of each tornado had increased. Experts in Tornadoes are now trying to come up with new definitions for tornadoes wider and more powerful than the dreaded 5.0 monsters which used to be rare compared to today's numbers.

FLOODS, DROUGHTS & FIRES
In April of 2011, there were record levels of rain on the Mississippi River which caused the river and its tributaries to swell to record levels by the beginning of May. Illinois, Missouri, Kentucky, Tennessee, Arkansas, Mississippi, and Louisiana were disaster areas. To save most of Baton Rouge and New Orleans, the Morgana Spillway was opened which flooded 4600 square miles of rural Louisiana. The floods were responsible for more than 20 deaths and 4 billion dollars in damage.
While the midwest was hit with constant rain and flooding for several months without end, Texas was hit with a severe drought like nothing anyone had ever witnessed before. Every year, we have hot and humid weather starting around May and it usually lasts until mid to late September. The Spring temperatures usually start in the 80s and steadily increase into the 90s by June. By August, we usually have to endure hot and humid temperatures over 100 for at least a couple of weeks before the first cool front of the fall. But in the year 2011, the 100+ temperatures started in early Spring and lasted continually for over 4 months in a row. It was like nothing any of us had ever lived through before. With these 100+ temps was a dry heat. It wasn't humid as usual, but dry as dust. You could actually feel your skin cooking when walking outdoors. There was no rain, not a single drop, all throughout those 4 long months. By September, fires broke out all over the state. I was traveling from South to Central Texas when it happened. Pictures and videos can be seen here.
SINK HOLES
The year 2012 seemed to mark the beginning of random sink holes appearing all over the planet. While this phenomenon isn't new, it isn't common; at least it wasn't common until the last few years. Several theories have been put forth by many starting with fracking operations to the expansion of the earth's crust. But the definitive cause for these holes remains a mystery.
The majority of our news media promotes geological reasons, stating that this phenomenon is normal, common, usual, every-day, no-big-deal, run-of-the-mill phenomena. But they are speaking of the classic sink-hole which has been seen before; not these random sink-holes that have begun to appear all over the planet. I actually read one article that told it's readers not to go searching the Bible for answers. But I would simply ask, if this were so common and explainable, then why is it freaking everybody out? If these sink-holes were so common and so explainable, then why do pictures of them (like the one on the right) put such a nervous feeling in the pit of our stomach? It's not like looking at a picture of lightning, a tornado or even an earthquake. Even though we fear those types of weather events, we're used to them! They aren't new to us. But these sink-holes are!! To call something like this perfectly natural is a slap in the face of all reason. "Pay no attention to that man behind the curtain!!! The Great News Media Has Spoken!!!"
Even if the media were correct to call this natural, that still doesn't explain why it's happening now or why it's happening so frequently. Since 2012, these holes have gotten much bigger as you will see in the video posted later in this article...
MYSTERIOUS ANIMAL DEATHS
Occasionally, we're caught off guard when we hear the news of a beached whale or a flock of birds colliding into a sky-scraper, but recently (again, starting in 2011) there have been a multitude of strange reports regarding whole groups from different species across the entire globe turning up dead for reasons no one seems to know. For example, in Beebe, Arkansas, over a mile-wide area, more than a thousand blackbirds were somehow killed and fell from the sky. Scientists grasped at straws to explain it and covered every possible explanation from fireworks to lightning. Then the very next day, a report came out saying that over 100,000 drum fish were discovered floating along a 20-mile stretch of the Arkansas River and washing up on the river's banks near the town of Ozark. Scientists were quick to calm everyone down by professing their efforts to get to the bottom of it all. Almost all of them were quick to say that it had nothing to do with the bird deaths. Again, this is something that by itself would cause us to scratch our heads, but nothing worth getting worried about. But then a few days later, dead doves suddenly started falling from the skies over Italy!
Since then, a continual stream of reports have been surfacing (if you know where to look) regarding massive amounts of fish, birds and other animals simply falling out of the skies or washing up on the shores without any explanations. What makes it even stranger is that each case isn't random, but focuses on a particular species. It's become so common place that the major news outlets hardly cover it anymore. The mystery hasn't been solved and it's only increasing in frequency.
MYSTERIOUS SOUNDS, BOOMS & EXPLOSIONS
Starting in 2009, people all over the globe started reporting unexplainable sounds that resembled loud bumps or even explosions being heard nearby with no evidence as to the source. The case of Clintonville comes to mind as the most legitimate case since all members of the media covered it exhaustively. The case in Clintonville is almost identical to cases all over the world. Once again, the geological community has risen to offer an explanation, citing tremors sounding through special types of granite to be the culprit. Once again, their explanation doesn't tell us why it's never happened before, why it's happening now, and what about all those other places all over the world where the so-called special granite type isn't available.
In addition to unexplained bumping noises, many YouTube users throughout 2011 posted videos of strange groans coming from the sky. Probably 99% of what's found at YouTube under this category is false. I've noticed quite often throughout the years that whenever someone uploads a legitimate video of some strange phenomenon, hundreds of videos will appear soon afterward that attempt to copycat the original video, making the credibility of the original video difficult to uphold. Until now, I've never bothered to post videos from people who have claimed to record strange sounds, simply because we live in a digital age where anyone with a computer these days can make a convincing video. But just because I haven't posted them, doesn't mean I don't find one or two of them to be credible. Something weird is definitely going on.
In recent years, exploding windshields and exploding sun-roofs have become a concern with little or no satisfying explanation as to what that's all about. Some companies are blaming the heat in parking lots but, once again... why now? Parking lots aren't new. Summer heat isn't new. Windshields aren't new. Since when does a car sit in a parking lot and then BOOM!!! - Spontaneous glass combustion!!! huh???
FIREBALLS
All my life, I've looked forward to meteor showers. I've always been a constant star-gazer. Every night, you can probably catch at least 1 falling star if you look long enough. They look like little dots of light skipping over the earth's atmosphere much like someone would toss a small stone over a smooth body of water. Some of them are bright, some of them are dim. Some move slowly like a single spark from a July 4th firework. Others move rapidly like the tip of a giant sword is slashing through the sky. But all these things have always been and there's nothing new about them. What is new, is a relatively new phenomenon that people are calling, "Fireballs" simply because they burn in the sky like a massive ball of fire. They don't zoom across the sky like a meteor, but slowly burn up much like an orbiting spaceship might do if it were re-entering the earth's atmosphere without heat-protection. They come in at odd angles, not common at all compared to what we're used to seeing. Several YouTube users have been monitoring this for the past few years, but no case is more known worldwide than the case of the so-called Meteorite which exploded over Russia in February of 2013. Scientists insisted that it must have been over 50 feet wide and weighing over 10 tons in order to do what it did over the skies of Russia. As it streaked across the sky, it exploded with the power of an atomic bomb. The sonic blasts shattered windows and injured at least an estimated 1,100 people. Witnesses said that houses shuddered, windows were blown out and cellphones stopped working. Click here for video.
DEMONIC POSSESSION
In May of 2008 in the United Kingdom, closed-circuit TV cameras facing the M6 motorway captured what appeared to be two women strangely walking down the central reservation of the motorway. When police arrived, it was discovered that they were twin sisters from Sweden, named Ursula and Sabina. Both sisters had run into traffic, sustaining injuries after being hit by passing cars traveling 60 mph. The paramedics on their way, expected to find two women barely moving in the middle of the road, but instead found them standing on the side of the road, casually and calmly talking with the police as though nothing had happened. But then suddenly, Ursula ran into traffic again, running into the side of a semi-truck traveling close to 60 mph. The truck crushed Ursula's legs while Sabina didn't even seem to care. As the police and paramedics were in shock and attempting to respond, Sabina then also ran into traffic and was hit by a Volkswagen, rendering her unconscious. Judging from the impact on the Volkswagen's windshield, she should have died, but didn't. As paramedics ran to the aid of Sabina, then Ursula began attempting to get up and run away. Her legs were crushed and yet she didn't even seem to notice. Ursula spit profanities and argued with the paramedics when suddenly, Sabina got up and ran into traffic a 3rd time. It took more than 6 people to subdue Sabina before taking her into custody. Each of the police and paramedics said that they felt as though they were being tossed about like rag dolls. Since the film crew of Britain's "Traffic Cops" just happened to be on the scene at the time, all of this was captured on film as it happened live. Click here for video.
The mainstream media just doesn't know what to do with demonic possession. The case of the so-called Miami Zombie that we heard about in May of 2012 was a typical and classic case of demonic possession: Super-human strength; growling; cannibalism, naked in public; it's classic to anyone who's ever done even the smallest amount of research in demonic possession. What CNN failed to mention in their news coverage was that after the autopsy and toxicology report came back from this guy, it was discovered that there were no bath salts or drugs of any kind found in his system. There seems to be a discrepancy among some agencies which insist that traces of synthetic marijuana could have been in his system without detection. The supernatural worldview is unacceptable, therefore tests were run over and over again until they found what they wanted to find, a definitive sign that marijuana was indeed in his system at the time of the attack. But if marijuana could be responsible for this type of behavior, then the United States should have been overtaken by a zombie-apocalypse over 5 decades ago.
A SUMMARY OF THE EVENTS OF JULY 2014
In August of 2014, a YouTube user put together an 18 minute video montage of news clips from both national and local news outlets reporting everything from the appearance of unexplained sink holes, record breaking rain falls, unusually frequent and strong tornadoes, the increase of freak lightning attacks, unexplainable animal die-offs, freak hailstorms, melting road pavement, freak insect plagues, unexplained color distortions of river waters and mystery fireballs falling from the sky which don't behave like your average meteor but rather come in at strange angles, moving slowly, burning longer and brighter. The video has since been deleted due to copyright claims but all that was seen in the video was just what was reported by public news broadcasts in the month of July 2014. It revealed to people just how heavy and how frequent these things have become in that everything shown in the video took place in a single month. It was a wake-up call for Christians who like to shelter themselves in their protective little bubbles. What was missing from the video were all of the frequent earthquakes at 6.0 or greater all over the globe, the re-emergence of old plagues and diseases breaking out, the rise in cruelty and violence against children and animals, the political unrest between every nation and the resurrection of hatred for the Jews to a degree that has not been seen on this planet since before Hitler's holocaust. All of it's in black and white in our dusty Bibles.
THE BEGINNING OF SORROWS
While discussing the future, Jesus was asked by one of his disciples in Matthew 24, "When will all these things take place and what will be the sign of your coming and the end of the world?" Whichever disciple this was, he asked all three important questions in a single breath. 1. WHEN? What's the date on our calendar? 2. What are the signs of Jesus' coming? 3. What are the signs of the end of the world? These three questions were asked to Jesus' face at point-blank range and everything Jesus had to say in response to those questions have been recorded for us in Matthew 24. He wouldn't answer the WHEN question, therefore we can't know by appointment when Jesus is returning; we don't have a specific date on a calendar to look forward to. All those who are setting dates are wasting their time. But he did give us plenty of signs to be watchful for in Matthew 24:4-12.
Read it for yourself and tell me that it doesn't sound like Jesus was talking about the times we're living in right now. Many cult leaders in the past hundred years or more have led many astray claiming to be Jesus. Wars and rumors of wars started being fulfilled before World War I and has only increased in frequency in these present times. Nation has risen against nation more than once in the past hundred years, but Jesus made it perfectly clear that those were just the beginning of sorrows. The latter half of verse 7 onward speaks of what we've seen in the past 100 years, and especially what we've been seeing in the past 4 years with incredible intensity: famines, earthquakes in diverse places, the Jews have been delivered up to be afflicted and are now hated (thanks to our deceptive news media) by all nations. The world has become just as intolerant of Christians. Right now, Arab Christians in the middle east are being massacred by the thousands by followers of Islam. It barely gets a mention in our national news. Jesus said in verse 12 that the rise of iniquity would abound so much, that the love of many would grow cold. That leads us to a prophecy that Paul gave us in 2nd Timothy.
THE LOVE OF MANY SHALL WAX COLD
When Paul gave Timothy a list of characteristics about the last days in 2nd Timothy 3:1-5, he spoke of people losing their ability to have natural affection toward others, toward children and toward animals. A cruel arrogance has taken over the emotions of most people in the world today, accompanied by an impatient rage. We see this in people's treatment of children, cruelty to animals, children's cruelty toward each other and their parents, etc. The very first word that Paul used to summarize the times we're in was the word "perilous". The Word "Perilous" in that passage was translated from the Greek word, "chalepos" and it's definition found in a Strong's Concordance says that it means "hard to do, hard to take, hard to approach, hard to bear, troublesome, dangerous, harsh, fierce and savage." This Greek word is never used anywhere else in the New Testament except for one other time, and it's found in Matthew 8:28 to describe the demoniac who was filled with demons. The definition of his nature was the very same of the "Perilous Times" of the last days that Paul warned Timothy about. I believe these are the times we are living in today, especially with the massive increase of UFO sightings and "alien abductions" and regular readers to this blog know exactly what that's all about.
Jesus repeated himself, continuing to give us the signs of the times before his return in Luke 21:10-11 with one subtle addition: "pestilences; and fearful sights and great signs of terror shall there be from heaven." What on earth is he talking about? He continues in verses 25-26 and says, "...there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring; men's hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken." I think it's safe to say that we haven't reached that part of the prophecy of signs yet, at least not fully, but our present course in history is headed in that direction.
Don't be afraid, just be aware. This is where we are in history. We'll be monitoring it here. Put on the whole armor of God. Be alert. Watch over the safety of your loved ones, constantly shield them and bathe them in prayer. Never forget that "He Who lives in you, is greater and mightier than he who is in the world." Now is the time to get serious about our relationship with our Lord and quit playing "Cute Christianity" and quit playing church. Now is the time to get serious about our study of the Bible as the inerrant Word of God. It's too important. As we approach these days ahead, remember that we study these things knowing in advance how it all turns out. That's what makes all of this so incredibly exciting!!!
No one could ever get used to the wrath of tornadoes, hurricanes, volcanoes or earthquakes, for each new generation has their own awakening when it comes to experiencing nature's fury.
And Jesus answered and said to them, "Take heed that no man deceive you. For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many. And you will hear of wars and rumors of wars: see that you aren't troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places. All these are the beginning of sorrows. Then shall they deliver you up to be afflicted, and shall kill you: and you shall be hated of all nations for my name's sake. And then shall many be offended, and shall betray one another, and shall hate one another. And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many. And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold."In those 9 verses, Jesus gave his disciples a sweeping overview of history leading up to (but not including) the time of the Great Tribulation. Jesus labeled this period of history before the Great Tribulation, "The Beginning Of Sorrows."
