The Music Of Heaven
I can't imagine what it must have been like to be a Christian living in America 40 years ago when stuff like this actually aired on national, main-stream, prime-time TV. There's more Christian doctrine in this one little performance than you'll hear in 2 hours of sitting in most churches today. Get ready to clap your hands and stomp your feet with a tissue handy. June Carter & Tennessee Ernie Ford join Johnny Cash and the ensemble for the finale of the October 28, 1970 episode of "The Johnny Cash Show" with the old-time Christian hymn, "Praise The Lord, I'll Have a New Life."
As I watched this, I couldn't help but think... all three of these Christians now know from personal experience what they were singing about. Can you imagine the level of excitement there is in the music of Heaven? The versatility of different genres of different ages? The quality of the sound? The fully matured joy in the reality of it all? Man, I can't wait to get there.

On that resurrection morning When all the dead in Christ shall rise I'll have a new body Praise the Lord, I'll have a new life Sown in weakness, raised in power Ready to live in Paradise I'll have a new body Praise the Lord, I'll have a new life I'll have a new home of love eternal Where the redeemed of God shall stand There'll be no more sorrow No more pain, there'll be no more strife Yes, raised in the likeness of my Savior Ready to live in Glory Land I'll have a new body Praise the Lord, I'll have a new life Free from every imperfection Youthful and happy I shall be I'll have a new body Praise the Lord, I'll have a new life Glorified with Him forever Death will be lost in victory I'll have a new body Praise the Lord, I'll have a new life I'll have a new home of love eternal Where the redeemed of God shall stand There'll be no more sorrow No more pain, there'll be no more strife Yes, raised in the likeness of my Savior Ready to live in Glory Land I'll have a new body Praise the Lord, I'll have a new life What a hallelujah morning When the last trumpet of God shall sound I'll have a new body Praise the Lord, I'll have a new life Graves all bursting, saints all shouting Heavenly beauty all around I'll have a new body Praise the Lord, I'll have a new life I'll have a new home of love eternal Where the redeemed of God shall stand There'll be no more sorrow No more pain, there'll be no more strife Yes, raised in the likeness of my Savior Ready to live in Glory Land I'll have a new body Praise the Lord, I'll have a new life |
