Christians With A Much Bigger Problem
Do you call yourself a Christian? You're the one I want to talk to. I'm not talking to the world, to the lost, to the country, or to anyone but those of you who say you're a follower of Jesus Christ. This only applies to you.
Before you engage in online debates or conversations with other Christians about controversial issues such as gay marriage, abortion, politics, etc... There are 4 pivotal truths in which YOU MUST BE ESTABLISHED before going any further, that is if you truly are a follower of Jesus Christ. Since we know that Satan is the god of this world according to II Corinthians 4:4, who keeps the eyes and the mind blinded from seeing the truth, then in order to know the truth, these 4 foundational points must be established in your heart.
If you call yourself a Christian and you disagree with any of the above 4 points, then YOU HAVE A MUCH BIGGER PROBLEM than what people say or think about gay marriage, abortion, politics, etc...
You have been compromised. Your spiritual condition is in trouble. You may be saved but you have no foundation to call yourself a follower of Jesus Christ. You are a victim of Satan's cunning deception because here's what you're probably doing in contrast to the 4 points above...
You've got everything backwards.
In recent days and weeks, I have seen many so-called Christians quote difficult passages from Leviticus and Deuteronomy to prove that the wisdom of this world is wiser than the wisdom of God. Even though 66 books of the Bible promote marriage between a man and a woman, they advance the idea that it's not wise to rely upon those 66 books because a couple of verses in Leviticus teach against eating shrimp and some passages in Deuteronomy promote the death penalty for adultery. So because of the many difficult passages in the first 5 books of Moses (which aren't really difficult once you place them back in their context) we're to ignore the rest of the entire Bible?
There's 2 kinds of people who read the Bible. Those who want the truth and those who want to shape the truth into what they want the truth to be.
Christians who use the Bible in this way do not respect God's Word, they have no knowledge of God's Word, they have no fear of the Lord and they are hostile to God's Word and everything it teaches, while simultaneously saying, "I'm a Christian and I love Jesus!!!" This type of Christianity makes Jesus vomit! Click on that link and scan down to Jesus' personal letter to the church of Laodicea.
A Christian who publicly disrespects God's Word to promote what they know in their heart isn't true is a much greater abomination than any controversial issue that I can think of. Paul talked about these types of Christians in II Timothy 3:1-5. Paul wasn't talking about the world, he was talking about the future of the so-called Christian population. No wonder the church in these times has no light.

Since we know that Satan is the god of this world according to II Corinthians 4:4, who keeps the eyes and the mind blinded from seeing the truth, then in order to know the truth, these 4 foundational points must be established in your heart.
1. The wisdom of the world is foolishness to God. I Corinthians 3:19
2. Respectful fear of the Lord is the beginning of true wisdom and understanding. Proverbs 9:10
3. A true follower of Jesus Christ abides in God's Word... John 8:31-32
4. ...and brings all theories and arguments in opposition to God's Word into alignment with God's Word. II Corinthians 10:4-5

1. You respect the wisdom of the world more than the wisdom of God.
2. You fear the world and what it thinks more than you fear the Lord and what HE thinks.
3. You abide in the words of the world's wisest rather than abiding in God's Word...
4. ...and you are probably in the habit of forcing Biblical doctrine into a box that is more palatable and acceptable with the world's wisdom. Instead of leading every thought captive into the obedience of Christ, you lead every truth captive into the obedience of the world.
You've got everything backwards.
